School management SaaS for Nigerian schools

A multi-tenant school management platform for Nigerian private schools. What I built

  • Multi-tenant architecture using PostgreSQL row-level security
  • School onboarding with six roles: owner, admin, bursar, teacher, guardian and student
  • Student records, enrolment and bulk CSV import
  • Daily and per-subject attendance, with absence alerts to parents
  • Grading schemes, assessments and PDF report cards
  • Fees, invoices, payment plans and Paystack payments with split settlement
  • Guardian portal, announcements, homework, calendar and timetables
  • Two-factor sign-in, audit logging and rate limiting
  • Redis-backed job queues, error monitoring and product analytics
  • An Expo mobile app (in development) and a curriculum-aware AI tutor

About

I started out building websites for clients. Now I also build and run my own products.

I'm Benedict (Ben) Arinze, a web developer and product engineer based in Lagos. In 3+ years of freelance work I've delivered 40+ websites and web projects for schools, recruiters, travel agencies, construction firms and publishers, many on WordPress with a strong technical-SEO focus.

Most of my time now goes into full-stack product development. SchoolKit, BetGenius and CredoCatholica are products I've designed, built and operate: the data model, the payments, the background jobs, the deploys and the numbers after launch.

I use AI tooling hands-on, both inside products and in how I build. What I enjoy most is turning messy operational problems into software people actually rely on.

How I work

A short, honest process.

  1. 01

    Understand

    I learn how the business actually runs, including who uses it, what breaks and what matters, before proposing anything.

  2. 02

    Design

    Structure first: the data model, content architecture and user flows, then the interface.

  3. 03

    Build

    I work in small, typed, reviewable increments and deploy to preview early, so you see progress as it happens.

  4. 04

    Launch

    Production is set up properly: domains, SEO, analytics, payments and monitoring.

  5. 05

    Improve

    After launch I watch real usage and fix what the data shows, not what's assumed.
